Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.37% or 6.07 points to trade at 119.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) added 4.67% or 0.52 points to end at 11.66 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 3.93% or 4.78 points to 126.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which fell 69.84% or 659.95 points to trade at 285.00 at the close. Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) declined 3.29% or 6.41 points to end at 188.65 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was down 1.99% or 0.54 points to 26.63.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 129 to 111 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 69.84% or 659.95 to 285.00.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.74% or 19.90 to $2,661.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.20 to hit $68.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $71.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.20% to 20.40, while EUR/MXN fell 0.55% to 21.42.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 106.38.
